Making a cracked glass material | Substance Painter

In this tutorial I will show you how to make your own broken glass material using the particles brush in Substance Painter for your project.

Broken Glass

In order to use the Particles brush, add a Paint Layer

Under the Brushes panel, search for Particles and choose the Broken Glass Particle

The Emitter determines how the Particles will act before attaching to the model

The Receiver determines how the Particles will act after attaching to the model

The dt option defines how smooth the brush will appear – with lower numbers meaning a smoother look

Spawn Speed determines the amount of time that elapses between the time you Left-click and the Particle is applied – lower numbers mean a longer delay

Fractal Life determines the number of crossing segments

Fractal Size determines the scale of the crossing segments

Particle Life determines how long the Particles will draw on the model

Particle Life Random determines how many segments will be straight

Particle Speed is how fast the Particles will travel

Spawn Radius determines the size of the circle in the middle of the Particle

Time Before Trigger determines the amount of time that lapses before the segments crisscross
