In this tutorial I will show you how to make your own broken glass material using the particles brush in Substance Painter for your project.
Broken Glass
In order to use the Particles brush, add a Paint Layer
Under the Brushes panel, search for Particles and choose the Broken Glass Particle
The Emitter determines how the Particles will act before attaching to the model
The Receiver determines how the Particles will act after attaching to the model
The dt option defines how smooth the brush will appear – with lower numbers meaning a smoother look
Spawn Speed determines the amount of time that elapses between the time you Left-click and the Particle is applied – lower numbers mean a longer delay
Fractal Life determines the number of crossing segments
Fractal Size determines the scale of the crossing segments
Particle Life determines how long the Particles will draw on the model
Particle Life Random determines how many segments will be straight
Particle Speed is how fast the Particles will travel
Spawn Radius determines the size of the circle in the middle of the Particle
Time Before Trigger determines the amount of time that lapses before the segments crisscross
