In this tutorial I will show you how to make your own polished metal material in Substance Painter for your project.
Texture
I will add a fill layer and give it a light gray color [#D4D4D4]
I change the metallic to 1 and leave the roughness at 0.3
I add a second fill layer and rename it sharpen
I change the color to a slightly darker gray then the base [#C0C0C0]
I right-click and add a filter
For the filter, I will choose “sharpen”
I change the metallic to 1 and leave the roughness at 0.3
Saving
I make a new folder to contain my layers
I can now right-click on the folder and create a smart material
