Did you know there is an add-on that will help you with parenting object for animation in Blender?
In this Blender tutorial I will show you how to quickly and easily use the Dynamic Parent add-on for animations in Blender.
Introduction
The Dynamic Parent add-on for Blender allows you to quickly enable and disable parent-child relationships between objects
Using the Add-on
I have already set up a very simple animation with the Vincent rig
I want Vincent to pick up the ball on the first frame
On frame 1, I select the rig and then SHIFT-select the ball
In the Dynamic Parent menu, I click on “create”
Now, when I move to frame 10, I see that his hand and the ball move at the same time
On frame 10, I select “disable” in the Dynamic Parent menu
Now when I move to frame 20, I see that the ball stays in place but the hand moves
